The company chairman Les White came up with the novel idea as a solution to allow children to have more freedom and outdoor time, but without the parental worry.
“Recent reports suggest that around 25% of children up to the age of 10 years old have never been allowed outside of their own back garden without adult accompaniment “ explained Les White, “and we see Iseeka as a major step forward in rectifying this”.
“As a parent of two young children myself I know what it’s like to take your eye off them for a moment and then go into a panic if one is out of sight, even for a split second, so I realise that some parents may find it easier to keep their children indoors. However, children do need to be able to go out and play and explore like what we used to do as kids, as it’s the way in which they develop their social and interactive skills."
“ We think we’ve found the perfect solution - to allow children to play in electronic safe zone areas which the parent can control by setting a distance they feel comfortable with for the age of the child concerned, anywhere from just a few feet to a quarter of a mile !"
“By the year 2020 we expect almost every child in the developed world to be “remotely” connected to a parent’s base unit. Freedom with reassurance is what it’s all about.”
